Ibm Xiv

Late last week, IBM quietly announced details of the XIV 2810-A14, the first product released since acquiring XIV late in 2007. It appears IBM has formed a "Tiger Team," made up of former EMC sales reps who are out pushing for some early installations to build reference accounts. XIV, of course was the company led by Moshe Yanai, the father of EMC's Symmetrix product line.

This Peer Incite will discuss the implications of the coming of XIV and considerations for IBM and non-IBM customers.

We are pleased to have Josh Krischer, noted storage industry analyst present on this call.

At this session we will discuss:

  • What's different about XIV?

* What may be XIV's impact on other vendors?

* Where will this unique architecture fit in customer's storage portfolio's?

* Are IBM's reported claims of superior energy efficiency valid?

* How should customer's exploit XIV's architectural capabilities?
